
AFC South Bay joins UPSL Western Conference Wild West Division
Based in San Jose, CA, Athletic Football Club South Bay (AFC SB) joins UPSL for the 2021 Spring season. Founded in 2021, AFC will bring an elite level of play through a coaching organization with over 30 years of experience. The club will announce its upcoming game schedule at a future date. Patrick Roode, President of AFC SB, began his career at the youth level to under 17s before making the transition into coaching. Mr. Roode’s record of success includes 20 years of coaching and winning multiple state titles for club teams in Nebraska, and consistently placing teams in the top ten of regional play. Dazaev “Daz” Muchach, the Men's First Team Assistant Coach, played for 18 years in Florida and California. Daz will bring his player passion and energy into his new role as assistant coach. John Roode is AFC South Bay’s Technical Director. With 35 years of coaching at all levels, holding a USSF “A” license, his experience includes both Head and Assistant Coaching positions, having led multiple teams to state championships and top ten regional placings. John was also on the staff of Creighton University's first final four team in 1996 and is a member of the Creighton Sports Hall of Fame. AFC South Bay will be holding upcoming tryouts on March 20-21, for potential soccer hopefuls.
